Dan Garodnick Announces Co-chairs for NYC Comptroller Campaign: Dick Ravitch, Betsy Gotbaum, and Ted Wells Candidate for NYC Comptroller. Dan Garodnick, New York City Council Member District 4           Long Island City, NY July 2, 2012 - NYC City Council Member District 4, Dan Garodnick, announced his candidacy for NYC Comptroller several months ago. Dick Ravitch, Betsy Gotbaum, and Ted Wells have agreed to serve as Co-Chairs of the campaign. These three distinguished civic leaders will lend their experience and wisdom as we spread our message and ideas for making our city’s government work for every New Yorker. Dick, Betsy, and Ted know as much about government as anyone I’ve ever met. Dick served as Lieutenant Governor of New York, as Chairman of the MTA, and in many other public posts. Betsy was our Public Advocate for eight years. And Ted is a nationally recognized leader in the field of corporate and government investigations and Chairman Emeritus of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund Board of Directors.
