Long Island City, New York February 28, 2011 -
The Long Island City / Astoria Lions Club held a Blood Drive at the Avalon North Riverview Towers on Monday, February 28th.
Thirty one pints of blood were generously donated.
The New York Blood Center's website say:

The Long Island City / Astoria Lions Club has recently established itself in Long Island City and meets twice each month. Its mission is "To Serve". [ LICLions.org ] The Lions Club is a long established global organization with 45,000 chapters, and 1.35 million members. It consists of local leaders who want "to serve" the unique needs of the communities they live in.
Marcel Veronneau, CEO of Industrial Management & Training Institute headquartered in Long Island City, and a long time member of the Lions Club, has formed a chapter in LIC and is meeting on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.
The LIC Lions Club has already had FOUR previous BLOOD DRIVES that produce 114 pints of blood. The total now is 145 pints.
The next drive by the Long Island City / Astoria Lions Club is scheduled for July.
