Long Island City, New York June 15, 2011 -
Move the clock forward twelve months from June 2010. Things have changed fast in Long Island City. Long Island City Real Estate Meeting and Special Report. LICBDC Breakfast Panel
This year, the Long Island City Partnership Real Estate panelists represented a new, large corporate tenant (Jet Blue), a large residential developer/builder (Related), and a writer for the Daily News.
The moderator, David Brause of Brause Realty, represented both the BID, now called Long Island City Partnership, and real estate development interests. The topic was "Real Estate", but the message was different than twelve months ago.
Twelve months ago, this same type of panel focused on when the real estate crisis would end, and what the price per square foot would be in Long Island City for residential and commercial property.
Twelve months ago, panelist Michelle Anderson, Dean of CUNY Law School and others, told the community why they were selecting Long Island City as their new home. Richard Anderson, President, NY Building Congress, and John Maltz, President, Greiner-Maltz, gave their insider views of what to expect in a very volatile real estate market in New York City.
Move the clock forward to June 2011.
Panelists this year are telling the Long Island City community what their employees need, what the next stage of city development will mean to the community, and most importantly, that Long Island City has become and will continue to grow because it is recognized as a The Place to live because everyone is involved in the community and actively wants to shape its quality of life.
OurLIC attended the meeting, and is providing a full video recording with this article. Watch here for more highlights and comments about this important meeting.
