Long Island City, NY August 4, 2012 -
The community is invited to participate in the Annual Night Out Against Crime at John Andrews Park behind the 108 Precinct House. There will be lots of fun with a DJ playing family fare and tunes, refreshments, awesome inflatables, rides, and plenty of police protection.
NNOAC promotes community involvement in crime and drug prevention activities, strengthening police-community relations, and encouraging neighborhood camaraderie as part of the fight for safer streets.
Since 1984, "National Night Out - America's Night Out Against Crime" has grown to involve over 30 million people from more than 9,000 communities.
If you would like to make a donation of funds or goods, please call 108 Community Affairs Officers PO Louis Sorrentino or PO Luis Diaz at 718-784-5420 or Diane Ballek, President 108 Council at 718-784-3194.
The event is organized by the 108th Precinct Community Council in conjunction with Hunters Point Community Development Corporation.
The event was a tremendous success in 2011, with 300-400 people attending.
