Long Island City, NY October 2, 2012 -
Council Member Peter F. Vallone Jr. and the Astoria Civic Association hosted Homeowners Night with Housing Preservation and Development (HPD).
Over 400 residents attended the meeting, which featured representatives from numerous City agencies, including the Department of Finance, Department of Sanitation, Environmental Protection and Consumer Affairs.
Residents asked questions regarding rising home assessments, illegal curb cuts and landlord and tenant problems, and were able to direct them to the Agency responsible. The answers were usually helpful, but sometimes resulted in disbelief from residents, especially regarding the 311 system.
Council Member Vallone stated – “If you don’t get the answer you were looking for tonight, that’s what I am here for. Call my office and we will make sure your issue is addressed by the City.”
OurLIC attended this meeting and presents a portion of the meetin in Video as part of this OurLIC NEWS article.
