Long Island City, NY October 22, 2012 - The Kiwanis Club of Astoria - Long Island City is a vital organization supporting the community. Kiwanis International is a global organization of members dedicated to serving the children of the world. Kiwanis and its family of clubs -- nearly 600,000 members strong -- annually raise more than $107.0 millionand dedicate more than  16 million volunteer hours to strengthen communities and serve children. Members of every age, attend meetings, experience fellowship, raise funds for various causes, and participate in service projects, that help their communities. On October 22, 2o12, the Kiwanis Club of Astoria / Long Island City met at Ponticello Ristorante to install new Officers for the coming year.
