Long Island City, NY November 1, 2012 -
Guardian Data Destruction, a Long Island City headquartered company whose business is normally to provide ON SITE data erasure and hard drive destruction, decided to help New Yorkers in distressed lower Manhattan.
Owner, Glenn Laga, decided his company could help people by parking his company's TRUCK at a lower Manhattan location on 14th Street for the purpose of recharging electric devices such as cell phones.
The truck has 60 – 100 110v plugs available.
At the end of Thursday, 11/1/2012, the company had helped over 1,000 people and was planning to return on Friday morning to continue.
Guardian Data Destruction, one of the Founding Partner member companies of the Long Island City / Astoria Chamber of Commerce. Glenn Laga is also a member of the Board of Directors for the LIC Chamber and is commited to community service.
Guardian Data Destruction is planning to park its truck on 48th Avenue in Long Island City on November 17, 2012 as a public service to accept electronic equipment and hard drives for safe disposal as part of it annual America Recycles Day in Long Island City.
