Hurricane Sandy Relief at The Blvd in Astoria 20121110
|
Long Island City, NY November 10, 2012 -
The damage to family homes, property, and businessess in NYC is devastating for many.
The tougher it gets, the stronger the hearts of New York City neighbors who are ready, willing, and able to reach out to help.
There are many examples of individual good deeds, retaurants and bars gathering food and clothing, corporate trucks being deployed to high priority areas where destruction has been the worst.
Companies and institutions like Guardian Data Destruction, the New York Irish Center, and MoMA have been lending an extraordinary hand to others.
Information and assessments continue to come in, and are made available quickly.
Nick Vaglica of Nick Vaglica Agency, Nationwide Insurance, has been providing relief and organizing life support supplies for two weeks. Nick is also President of the Long Island City / Astoria Lions Club as well as a a Director and Founding Partner of the Long Island City / Astoria Chamber of Commerce.
