Long Island City, NY August 26, 2012 -
Thursday, September 20, 2012 - Regular Meeting
GUEST SPEAKER: NYC City Councilmember Peter Vallone, Jr.
Council Member Peter F. Vallone Jr. represents Astoria and the surrounding communities and serves as Chair of the Public Safety Committee. As Chair, he successfully led the fight against having the 9/11 terror trials in New York City, and has fought to stop cuts to the NYPD, add more officers to local precincts, and for New York City to get the money it deserves from the state and federal governments.
During his tenure as a council member, Peter Vallone Jr. has addressed a wide body of issues, ranging from vandalism to anti-terror oversight to the environment in our children's schools. There has not been a task too daunting or a local problem too small for Vallone to push for. He is always aiming to accomplish real positive change instead of merely clamoring for attention. His many focuses are born from his experiences as a prosecutor, his beliefs on environmental conservation, his strong convictions to family and religion, his sense of duty and fairness, and a relentless dedication to protect New Yorkers regardless of political consequences. He loves helping people, something he will never tire of doing.
The City Council Member is outspoken on many topics of vital interest to LIC Chamber Members and Small Business.
