Long Island City, NY August 16, 2012 -
Nearly 2,000 people from the Long Island City community came to Foodcellar Market & Eatery on August 16th to help celebrate the 4th Anniversary of the store. Forty-four food and beverage vendors were set up with tables throughout the store to sample their gourmet items and meet their consumers.
The Foodcellar Market & Eatery has became an anchor for the community as developers began implementing the unprecedented expansion of residential apartments and condominiums along the East River. Previously, the community did not have a major grocery store in the neighborhood. Foodcellar brought a mix of regular branded groceries along with highly interesting imported and domestic food items that fit the taste preferences and health interests of the people who were moving to Long Island City. From the start, the store was a smash hit because it offered a mix of high quality and local items across the full spectrum of its groceries, deli, fish, produce, pizza, and other areas of the store.
Creative and innovative merchandising in the store is complimented by bright smiles and happy customer service people who have become "friends" in the community. There is always a smile for you at Foodcellar.
Over the years, the market has brought innovation after innovation to the community including Masa Madre Pizza, Carving Station, and a very creative sandwich station. As the community grows, the market is meeting the needs and interests of the new residents.
Congratulations to the Foodcellar Market & Eatery for carving a place in the community that makes you a "good neighbor".
OurLIC was at the event and presents a video "walk through"....or "Taste of Foodcellar".... along with photos.
