Long Island City, NY September 26, 2012 - Tony Meloni is a long time ADVOCATE for Astoria and its people. He advocates for immigrants. He advocates to prevent crime. In this article, OurLIC presents video showing the different dimensions and messages of Tony.  One week he is demonstrating self-defense instruction at a women’s crime prevention and self-defense class sponsored by the New York AntCrime Agency, the 114th Precinct, Safe Horizons and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).. The next week it a rally to voice opposition to an application for a liquor license for a "bikini" bar.   The next week, friends and supporters gathered to be with Tony Meloni, Candidate for NYC City Council, at William Hallet Restaurant September 26, 2012. Vallone Jr. attended "Shine A Light on Safety," a women’s crime prevention and self-defense class sponsored by the New York AntCrime Agency, the 114th Precinct, Safe Horizons and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).  During the class, women in attendance were provided with safety tips, and a self-defense demonstration was presented by Toni Meloni, the Director of the New York AntiCrime Agency. "With our police force dwindling and overburdened and crime rising across the City, women need all the protection they can get," said Council Member Vallone.
