GUEST DAN GARODNICK: Meet Dan Garodnick, New York City Council Member District 4 and Candidate for NYC Comptroller's Office.
TOPIC: Meet, Introduce, and Listen to LIC / Astoria Chamber Members Dan is Co-Chair of the City Council's Budget Negotiating Team, he Chairs Consumers Affairs Committee. Prior to his 2004 election, he was a securites litigator.
Dick Ravitch, Betsy Gotbaum, and Ted Wells have agreed to serve as Co-Chairs of Dan Garodnick's campaign for City Comptroller.

The Impact of Waste and Fraud on Small Business Resulting from Non-Enforcement of Government Benefits for Employees. Patricia Olmstead is Owner of Urban Exploration, an LIC based company specializing in contract Landscape Design. She is Member of Board of Director of LIC / Astoria Chamber of Commerce and is an active advocate for the community.

- For two years, Pat Olmstead has been voicing her view that government and agencies are hurting small business and the economy by not enforcing existing laws.
- On July 9, 2012, CNNMoney reported that "The federal government and states overpaid an estimated $14 billion in unemployment benefits in fiscal 2011, or roughly 11% of all the jobless benefits paid out." The estimate is based on reports from the U.S. Labor Department.
- Pat will brief the LIC / Astoria Chamber Members on her quest for enforcement and suggest what can be done
- Pat Olmstead is a recent Goldman Sachs 10,000 Businesses graduate entrepreneur from the LaGuadia Community College program. She received her Certificate in Landscape Design from The New York Botanical Garden. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and is an ASCP Registered Microbiologist.
She has been in the landscaping business for over twenty years.
