Here's the discovery we made.
Madera is offering a 24 oz PORTERHOUSE for $36.00...and a 20 oz New York Strip Steak bone-in, or Ribeye for $32.00. These are classic New York City Steakhouse thick cuts with that melt in your mouth tenderness and flavor.
These steaks are cooked on an open flame, which you can watch on the OurLIC Video with this Review. We cannot emphasize enough how important the open flame cooking is to the flavor and proper temperature when cooking thick, USDA CERTIFIED Prime Grade Beef like this.
The steaks can be topped with Tri-colored peppers in a chimichurrie sauce and served with your choice of salad, vegetables, potato, or homemade Cuban Rice and Beans.
We tried the PORTERHOUSE. It was tender, cooked perfectly at a medium rare temperature, and very flavorful.
We liked the way the Madera staff presented three raw steaks to customers, plated individually to help them make their choice. It reminded us of the dramatic presentation of top quality steakhouses that we have visited all over the country.
For those of you who have not yet tried Madera Cuban Grill & Steakhouse, now is the time! You will not be disappointed. It's the real thing...authentic, warm, charming, and welcoming. The waitstaff is experienced, very courteous, and attentive.
Miriam and Danny, owners, have given Madera a "homey" atmosphere. Every time you are there it will be memorable. As Danny will tell you, having Madera is "Living our dream." It has that homey welcoming feeling that you want in a restaurant, and that is what Miriam and Danny wanted to acheive when they opened. Danny is an artist. You will enjoy his extraordinary paintings, sold worldwide, while you are dining.
Miriam is no stranger to prime steaks. She operated the restaurant at the TENNISPORT for over 25 years. She had a demanding membership that wanted the best steaks after a great match with friends or the Pro. OurLIC discovered the fabulous steaks at the TENNISPORT while preparing a Featured Profile in 2009. At the time, Miriam bragged about the quality of the steaks she served at the TENNISPORT, and the high quality of beef she was getting from her special vendor. When Madera Cuban Grill was born, we were not surprised that it became Madera Cuban Grill & Steakhouse.
On Friday evenings, there is LIVE Cuban Jazz.
We should also note that the bar scene at Madera is very friendly, and has become a top neighborhood gathering spot as well as an afterwork destination.
