The Chef works magic with the hearty and plentiful Roman-Style cuisine ~ Braised Oxtail, Saltimbocca, beautiful pastas, gnocchi and many other wonderful dishes including the perfection of pizza in their wood burning oven.
All of this is complemented by the decor ~ wooden farmhouse beams, textured walls, lovely artwork, Roman artifacts, and candle light. Authentic pieces have been shipped from Italy to establish the comfort and character of old world Rome.
It is charming and sophisticated....romantic and trendy. That is hard to find.
The creators behind this exciting new restaurant have spared no expense and have much to be proud of as they bring their vision alive. This is a welcome addition to Vernon Blvd in Long Island City.
Executive Chef Ivan Beacco is quietly changing the way we think about Italian food, and how we eat it. Coupled with his devotion to fresh ingredients, flawless technique and a passion for Roman food, Ivan is shaping the concept of Contemporary Roman cuisine. His is a unique dining experience, which comforts with familiar, flavorful food while it transports one to old world Italy - an absolute necessity for anyone who truly loves Italian food.

Testaccio, a Roman-style ristorante, is filled with the warmth and exuberance that embodies the true, locals-only Italian dining experience. An evolution of cuisine, the kitchen serves up Italian fare that is authentically Roman, created with the freshest ingredients, some imported directly from Italy. The menu comforts and inspires, drawing from classic recipes brought to life with innovative cooking techniques and a brilliant mix of local and authentic Italian ingredients. Testaccio is the perfect marriage of old world charm and modern sophistication, a setting that suits midday gatherings, family meals, romantic dates and late night bites.
Contemporary Roman Cuisine will be dished up by head chef Ivan Beacco from Borgo Antico in Union Square. Owned by Carlo Bordone, Paul Bordone, and Alviero Pirani, the restaurant is scheduled to open in September. Carlo & Paul Bordone immigrated from Italy to Astoria. They are real estate developers and own a contracting company. They owned and designed Pepolino Ristorante in Tribeca and are looking to bring some more flavor & ambience of Manhattan to LIC!
