| Acupuncture is a 2000-year-old system of healing in which specific pressure points in the body are manipulated to provide therapeutic relief at corresponding areas of the body. There are hundreds of acupuncture points on the human body, from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet. These points are connected by pathways called meridians. Meridians conduct energy, or qi between the surface of the body and the internal organs. Each acupuncture point has a different effect on the qi that passes through it. Through the insertion of hair-thin needles at the acupuncture points, qi can be used to restore health and balance back to the body. |

Is it safe?
Acupuncture is safe and has been used for over 2000 years. The World Health Organization has recognized the ability of acupuncture to treat nearly four dozen common ailments. Every day more people are treated using acupuncture than any other medical system in the world.
Can acupuncture be used to treat my condition?
Acupuncture is used to treat many conditions including arthritis, back pain, muscle aches and pain, allergies, insomnia, fertility, weight loss, hypertension, anxiety, depression, chronic diarrhea, constipation, nicotine addiction, headaches, tennis/golf elbow, PMS/menstrual Cramps, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome, and knee pain. Your consultation with the L.Ac will determine how acupuncture can be used to treat your specific complaint.
How many treatments will I need?
Because treatment is customized to each patient, the number of acupuncture sessions will vary. Each patients circumstances are unique, so your treatment will be tailored to your illness or injury as well as the related symptoms and reactions that you experience.
How long is each treatment?
Each session typically lasts 30 to 45 minutes.
Is it painful?
Acupuncture isnt painful but you may feel temporary sensations of heaviness, tingling, numbness, pulsing, or itching around the needles.
How big are the needles?, Will they leave a scar?
Acupuncture needles are very thin about the size of piece of thread or a strand of hair. They are specially formulated for acupuncture. procedures. Mission Statement: What makes our services unique?
Our services are provided in a community setting, in a large, quiet and soothing space where we use comfortable tables
and reclining chairs to provide a supportive environment, as it is traditionally found in Asia, making the individual treatment much more effective.
What are the fees for the services?
Because we want to ensure continued and successful treatment for all of our clients, we provide affordable access
to our services via our low sliding scale fees.
Most US acupuncturists see only one or 2 patients per hour and charge $75-$150 per treatment. The unfortunate
consequences to the US model of treatment is that most patients cannot afford to come in more than once a week (at most) and usually stop treatment as soon as their chief systems are gone. Therefore the efficacy of their
acupuncture treatments is drastically reduced.
At Practical Acupuncture we want you to be able to come in as often as necessary to get better and stay better!
All treatments cost $30-$55
You decide how much to pay!
We trust you to make the right decision regarding how much you can afford, because you understand your financial
circumstances better than we could. Insider Tips: Acupuncture is used to treat a wide range of conditions including:
