Restaurant Features Carry Out Casual and Lounge Atmosphere Type of Food Burgers Restaurant Type Casual Dining Catering Neighborhood Eatery Take-out Full Description: Welcome to The Burger Garage restaurant, serving the most delicious high quality burgers, fries, hand-dipped ice cream shakes, yummy dessert and more in Long Island City, Queens, NY.
At The Burger Garage you will always be served made-to-order food using the freshest ingredients in an upscale, welcoming and friendly environment reminiscent of the "golden days of service" - a time when people not only had a love affair with burgers, America's iconic food, but with their automobiles, too.
We believe it is time to celebrate the days when friendly service with a smile was the rule. An era when hopping into the car for a ride with the family was not a chore, but a pleasure. Heading over to the local gas station to fuel-up the tank and catch up with neighbors and friends was a weekend ritual. Afterwards, families were sure to stop at a nearby burger joint where they would pull in and a happy, friendly face would skate over to take their orders. Here at The Burger Garage we understand the forgotten commitment to these values and it is our goal to provide you with the ultimate experience in fast food.
Our Commitment to Food Quality:
At The Burger Garage you can be assured of one very important element - our commitment to food quality. Selected beers and wines History: Jim's and Adam's family roots in the restaurant business reach back over 80 years. In 1926, their Great-Grandfather Pio Bozzi co-founded the original and now famous Palm Restaurant in New York City, which remains in the family to this day.
With a successful family history and career in the restaurant industry, Jim always dreamed of teaming up with his brother Adam to open a fast food burger restaurant. He envisioned combining superior food and atmosphere with fast-casual prices and style of service. Jim, who began his restaurant career in 1987, learned the ropes from the ground up at Smith & Wollensky's Steakhouse and later took a position in his family's restaurant, The Palm. There, he gained insight into the importance of superior quality products and family-like customer relations - the foundation on which The Burger Garage is built.
Opening The Burger Garage restaurant in Long Island City:
In early 2007, the search began for the ideal space to house the burger restaurant Jim & Adam had imagined. Drawn to Long Island City for its rich industrial past, close proximity to Manhattan and notable recent development, every free moment was spent exploring this historic neighborhood and cultural district. The idea of converting an old industrial garage correlated with the auto body/gas station restaurant theme Jim & Adam had envisioned, hence the name The Burger Garage. The frequent visits to Long Island City incited a personal fondness for the neighborhood - so much so that by the end of 2007 Jim, his sweetheart and her son moved from Manhattan to Long Island City, making it their home. After living in Long Island City for some time, experiencing the restaurant scene and being a part of the community, Jim confirmed that Long Island City was indeed the right neighborhood for The Burger Garage restaurant. In 2009, Jim & Adam found the perfect location for their family restaurant in Court Square, the heart of Long Island City. Located on the corner of Jackson Avenue & 44th Drive, it is a central restaurant location for all of Long Island City's residents and workforce. And while the restaurant is not a newly converted industrial garage, official city documents dating back to the 1950s show that the space was indeed a "garage" at one point in history...
