Long Island City, June 4, 2010 - FDNY, currently under threat of budget cuts by Mayor Bloomberg [OurLIC Article "The Little Engine that Could!" ], responded to a 2-Alarm fire on Vernon Blvd affecting two buildings between 47th Road and 48th Ave. The fire destroyed parts of two homes on the second and third floor of one building, and one floor on an adjacent building. No one was injured. The origin of the fire was uncertain.
