2011-02-18 CYPRECO of America, Inc., invites you to the screening of the documentary, CYPRUS IN THE SILK ROUTES.  Very rare in content this original documentary examines and showcases the history of silk making and weaving in Cyprus, a very unique craft that was once thriving on this Mediterranean island.  It is supported with English narration, interviews with traditional crafts people and traders, some from the last generations as they revive scenes from the Cypriot folk life. A great event for the entire family given in the heart of Astoria, at the Stathakion Cultural Center, 22-51 29th Street, Astoria, NY 11105, which is only 2 1/2 blocks from Ditmars Blvd, the last stop of the Astoria N or Q trains.
