| Description: | My work is at http://www.sundquistart.com Notes on Editions GOTHAM, a suite of six screenprints of NYC Art Deco architectural details, including the images on this site of the CHRYSLER BUILDING, FULLER BUILDING, and the RCA BUILDING (now owned by GE). The editions of 75 were printed on Arches cover beginning in the fall of 1984 and completed in the spring of 1985 at John Nichols Printmakers (Soho), with master printer Nenad Bozic (now at NEBO in Long Island City). Four and five colors using transparentized lithographic inks. FICTIONAL SKYLINES, a suite of five screenprints, including three on this site, produced in 1985 at John Nichols Printmakers in editions of 85 under the direction of master printer Nenad Bozic, using transparentized inks in five colors on Arches cover. The STATUE OF LIBERTY was produced at Osiris Editions on Canal Street in 1986, under license for the statue's Centennial, with master printer Nenad Bozic. Seven transparent colors, in an edition of 150, the only print by the artist in which he did not personally draft all separations. Based on an original finished drawing commissioned for the Centennial. BROOKLYN BRIDGE was produced in 1983 in Washington DC under the direction of master printer David Adamson, the fourth of five images in a suite of color stone lithographs, printed on gray Rives in four press runs including color-blended inks, in an edition of 40. Three large lithographs were commissioned by Orion Editions in 1989 and completed in 1990: LOWER MANHATTAN, WALL STREET SKYLINE, and BROOKLYN BRIDGE, supervised by master printer Bruce Porter at Trestle Editions on Varick Street. Printed in six colors from ball-ground zinc plates, in editions of 125, with additional hand-coloring in pencil by the artist. |
